Hi, and welcome to Paws and Patience.
My name is Caroline and I have always had a deep passion for working with dogs. From a young age, I was drawn to them, seeking every opportunity to learn from and spend time with them. As I grew, this stayed with me and evolved into a desire to base my career around these amazing animals.
My working life began over 20 years ago in a rescue centre. I saw so many dogs struggling with everyday situations, being around other dogs, reactivity on walks, being around children, or simply having visitors in the home. These common challenges were often the very reasons dogs were surrendered in the first place and often meant they were delayed in finding homes as they had such specific needs. That experience inspired me to better understand canine behaviour and how we can truly support dogs and their families.
In 2007, I began working for an assistance dog charity, where I spent over 17 years helping dogs learn the resilience, adaptability and teamwork needed to support their handlers. What became clear to me was that real progress didn’t just happen in the classroom, it happened in real life. One-on-one sessions, practiced in everyday environments, made the biggest difference. This style of session allowed me and their handlers to address behaviours with compassion, clarity and individual attention.
Like us, dogs are social, emotional beings. They’re individuals with their own personalities, histories and needs. They thrive when they feel understood and connected. My goal is to help you build that kind of relationship with your dog, one rooted in trust, communication and real-life skills, so both of you can enjoy life to the fullest.
If you’re looking for support, I’d love to hear from you.
