Each Client will need to accept these terms before beginning any training sessions, behaviour consultations or courses with Paws and Patience.
Course Duration
1.1. All courses, programmes, or blocks of sessions must be completed within 3 months from the date of your first session.
1.2. Any unused sessions after this period will expire and are non-refundable, unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Trainer.
Session Scheduling & Attendance
2.1. The Trainer will offer mutually agreed dates and times for all sessions.
2.2. Illness or adverse weather:
- You may rearrange one session within a course due to illness or poor weather.
- Any further rearrangements will result in the session being held virtually, or counted as used at the Trainer’s discretion.
- If you arrive late, the session will still finish at the scheduled time.
- Missed sessions without prior notice (“no-shows”) will be charged in full and cannot be rescheduled.
Client Responsibilities & Safety
3.1. You are responsible for ensuring your dog is healthy and suitably prepared for training or behaviour work. For behaviour cases this may include a prior full vet check if recommended by the trainer.
3.2. If you or dog shows any signs of illness, the trainer must be notified prior to the session.
3.3. You must provide a safe, secure training environment for in-person or virtual sessions.
3.4. You are fully responsible for the behaviour, actions, and welfare of your dog at all times, including during sessions, between sessions, and when following training instructions.
3.5. Liability for injury or damage:
- You accept full responsibility for any injury, accident, damage, or loss caused by your dog to any person, animal, or property.
- The Trainer is not liable for any such incidents, whether during sessions or at any other time.
- You must disclose any history of aggression, reactivity, fear, biting, or behavioural concerns before training begins.
3.6. You agree to follow safety guidance and handling instructions provided by the Trainer, including the use of leads, harnesses, muzzles (if required), and appropriate management equipment.
3.7. Children attending sessions must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Trainer Responsibilities
4.1. The Trainer will use ethical, welfare-centred, force-free training methods in line with UK industry standards.
4.2. The Trainer will provide professional guidance but cannot guarantee changes in behaviour, as outcomes depend on the dog’s history, environment, and the Client’s consistency and management.
4.3. The Trainer reserves the right to end a session or cease working with a dog if safety is at risk.
Payments & Cancellations
5.1. Payment for courses or sessions must be made in full prior to the first session unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5.2. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice are subject to being charged in full.
5.3. All payments are non-refundable once sessions have commenced, except where otherwise required by UK consumer law.
Virtual Sessions
6.1. Sessions may take place virtually if:
- Illness or bad weather prevents an in-person session, or
- Either party agrees that virtual delivery is more suitable for safety or behavioural reasons.
6.2. You are responsible for ensuring:
- A safe and appropriate training space;
- That the dog is securely managed during the session.
Data Protection & Media
7.1. Personal data will be handled in compliance with UK GDPR and will not be shared with third parties without consent, except where required by law.
7.2. With your consent, the Trainer may use photographs or videos from sessions for educational or promotional purposes.
